yes to both. Also add walking onions, bunching onions, rhubarb, blueberries and raspberries to your list. They are not all veggies, but my garden loves them all. I don't have bunching onions, yet. Keep all of the above in the same place. You can rotate your strawberries if you like every two to three years, but I don't know how as I use the same area. Good luck!

I have grown strawberries since 1943, many acres some years. My favorite method is to destroy the plants after picking or hoe out all the plants to a spacing of 5 feet. They will refill the row by fall. Or I plant last week of august at a spacing of 6 to 8 inches each way, remove all runners, I get huge yields. These two systems greatly reduce the weeds problem. Never keep a plant for more than 2 crops--else many cultivars die out and you have lost your plants. Some like Tribute and Tristat make few runners and die out after 2 or 3 years. Unless each flowering plant was a new runner last year, you are in trouble.
