The tomato is a warm season perennial cultivated as an annual. Indeterminate types should give you a better chance to grow it as a perennial. Any frost will doom it. Getting it enough light is difficult in the short daylight months. The smaller the fruit, like grape or cherry tomatos, the less sunlight they require.
