Most of my trees are putting on new growth. More than a handful of them have are fruiting. Houston still has temps in the 80s.

Most of my trees defoliated due to the heavy moisture this summer. When they started growing new leaves, it was as if the trees thought they were breaking dormancy. My pomegranates flowered in Sept/Oct.

What are you gonna do? Hopefully this winter will be mild and all will be well.

We will be having lows in the mid to high 20's later this week. I think the fig will get the message from that. I plan to wrap up about 4 of the shoots (6 ft tall all this years growth) and cover with a plastic tarp for the winter. This will be the first winter to try covering them. Always before it froze back to the ground and came with new growth each year. Hopefully, it can come back next year from this years growth and I can see some ripe figs before October.
