Four Season Vegetable Gardening

squash seeds

hi guys, just wondering... is there a secret to planting squash seeds? i scooped them out of farm raised acorn squashes and want to plant some myself next season. do i need to give them a 'winter'? do i need to start them inside? do they need a lot of water? or can i just throw them around and theyll grow wherever? thanks!

dry them and save them. direct sow them in the garden in the spring. squash is extremely easy to start directly in the garden, so I wouldn't bother to try to start them inside. They're usually grown 3-4 seeds per mound approx 3-6 feet apart. good luck with them.
