there should be no problem. I have grown them beside each other and even in the same hole (after orange tree graft was frost-killed) with no problem. Just make sure the soil is suitable for both. Good luck!

how close are you planning to plant them?

citrus tends to have slightly higher water requirements and heavier feeding requirements.

The two trees are going to be about 16 feet apart and have at least 6 hours of sunlight per day.

that's plenty far enough, should be no problems

Great information guys. Next season I plant on growing my fig tree and tangerine tree outside. Now I know that at a minimum of about 16 ft they'll be fine growing together. You're right though citrus trees like more water.

For now I am growing my fruit in containers. Still very small, but doing well indoors.
