No not odd at all Elizabeth :).

The disadvantage of planting a trailer in the garden, is that with 'rainy' weather the blooms would get spoilt as they would be laying on the soil. To overcome this plant your upright in the middle of a large pot and plant trailing types around the edge of same - Kath:)

I'll definitely go for a pot instead of the garden. I don't have many places for hanging baskets, and they're a pain to water anyway... I love a bunch of the trailing kinds, but the blooms are not on best display in pots sitting on the patio. I suppose I could put pots up on tables or something...

Know what you mean Eliabeth. When visiting places in your area that sells pots, look for a type that are 'raised' by that I mean they have a thick splayed foot on them, if you know what I mean :), they stand a bit higher than the normal pots. Failing that, I have found the easiest and cheapest way to raise the normal type pots is to get some 'house-bricks' say for instance 16, 4 x 4 layers, gives you a bit of 'stable-height' Kath :)
