Love fushias. With my shady yard I have no choice! Seriously, when I first moved to CA I was amazed to discover they were plants that could grow 6' tall in the ground. In Iowa they were a short lived summer pot plant that usually wilted in the heat.

When I first came there actually were no fushia mites. Now many people won't grow them because of the work of fighting the mite. But I love their color & variety. I have about 25 varieties.

I have that same exact one. However, mine is in a hanging basket outside hanging under the gutter. But The weird thing I noticed is some are are a lighter shade of purple? Is this normal or did I manage to get an oddball? If is that latter, I dont mind at all, those are usually the best "surprises"

It could be an 'oddball' Taz, or a slight variation of the same plant, or it may be just the fading as the flowers mature which is quite normal, - Kath:)
