Repruning a Fig Tree

Hello all,

I'm writing to ask for feedback on a pruning job I just did on my mother's fig tree. The tree was planted about seven or six years ago, and was doing great until two years ago, when my mother pruned it viciously and cut off a lot of fruiting wood. You can still see the evidence of the damage in the lumps of wood halfway up each central branch. The branches grew back quite erratically and it took another two years for it to produce a decent crop. I decided to prune it despite its age to get rid of the tallest and most unproductive branches. I tried to give the tree some nice shape and left a few suckers to grow into bigger branches. Thoughts? Will this tree need follow up?
