Have you checked into shipping the car by rail? My father-in-law shipped his car between (Orlando,FL/NYC,NY) and back using rail for years because he didn't like the long drive.
I have no clue on the expense.

My own experience...whatever service you do use, document,document, document, every ding, dent and scratch on your car. Leave NOTHING valuable in your car, CDs, radar detector, phone, etc.

I've had my car transported coast to coast and fortunately had minimal issues. However, others within my organization were not so fortunate. I think the general rule with auto-shippers are they are 'shady'.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I had one company tell me I would have to meet the truck at a truck stop to receive me car...unbelievable! Quotes are really high right now so I may just have to wait. The reasons given were they are high due to the Snowbird rush...I am in no hurry.

Hope you like Connetticut. If you know someone who would like to return Megan's grandmother's clay pot, the private driver could coordinate that with with transport of your vehicle, and that would truly be a becautiful thing.
