I grow 142 blueberry plants and have had BB plants my entire life and that is not normal, no green fruit ever drops from mine unless a bird pulls it. Are you sure the plant is not too dry? The berries that are falling are they shriveled up and dry or plump and normal looking? How many BB bushes do you have? Lack of pollination can cause fruit to drop.

Bamboo Rabbit, The BB appear normal and plump. We have just one BB bush but lots of bees in the area. It is planted in our veggie garden and gets watered frequently. I googled the problem and found a BB virus out in Washington state. Maybe? Thanks for your input. I envy your BB success! Carol

What variety of blueberry do you have? Some varieties need to be cross pollinated with a different variety and if they are not it will cause fruit to drop. Even though BB are classified as not needing a pollinator they do much better with a pollinator. With a pollinator they produce more fruit and larger fruit.

The virus would not be it......there are 1000's of acres of commercial BB in this state so the odds of you having the virus and nobody else is pretty slim:)

My advice....get another BB plant of a different variety.

...that blooms at the same time as the one you already have.

Thanks for info. I think its a rabbit eye variety. Will definitely get another variety to plant. Carol
