I was wondering if I could get some advice about training fuschias. I was reading through FAQ and looking through the forum, but I am still confused about the different types of fuschias. Are there types that will only grow low like in a hanging basket? Or will they eventually grow taller?

I recently bought a couple hanging baskets of fuschias. One was called Voodoo and I don't know what the other one was. I was experimenting with trying to train them to grow into a 5 foot tall shrub, so I cut off most of the branches and saved 3 or 4 of the strongest looking branches and I've been trying to train those to grow taller.. Then when they get tall enough, I was going to pinch them off at the top so they would start branching. Do you think this will work?

The Voodoo branches have been growing taller, but the other isn't growing as much. They keep forming buds at the tip that I've been pinching off. I was thinking that at a certain point I will have to take choose a side shoot from the main branches and try to make that extend the branch length beccause the main branch may not want to get any longer?
