I have never used them so can't give you any tips for using them. I also know some people who use 'oasis' and they are successful - Kath:)

I've tried 'green' oasis and I found it a poor second to using the water method. Only one out of four cuttings produced roots.
I think the problem with cuttings in Jiffy Pellets could be that they also need high humidity, and a small amount of bottom heat may also help.

I have found this year has been a particularly poor year for rooting fuchsia cuttings in Jiffy discs, I don't know why. It is possible that I have kept the cuttings too wet and humid when closed up, and this has allowed them to succumb to fungal infections, chiefly botrytis. This has happened not only with fuchsia cutting but also with rosemary and lavender cuttiings. Cuttings rooted in water have been very suceessful- all very confusing.
