It's a rust that they all get, every year, dropping all or most of their leaves. Don't bother spraying, it will do no good. Wash away the spider webs with a hose, but the rust will get the leaves even if you spray them with all the chemicals in your garage.

If I think it looks too unsightly I pick off all the leaves, it will leaf out again. Be sure to throw them away and any that fall on the ground so it doesn't get worse. By keeping them picked up I usually don't get it until Aug and then the trees are about ready to go down for the winter. Aaaargh!!! I am bummed! I have the most blossoms on my plant than ever before. I was so looking forward to a lovely blooming plumie and to post some pics. I hope it doesn't get too bad....

They still will bloom even without the leaves, if you choose to remove them and usually will leaf out again, before the blooms are gone. Just remove the worst ones and take you photo's, the rust won't show in the pictures, unless you do a close up. lol

It's weird how many buds are on this plant this year. I only had one round of blooms last year. Maybe because we've had more rain this year?
