Have had the same luck with this plant..finally stopped trying to grow it! What is the problem??? They are easy to find and have tried them several times with no luck. My other crainsbills are doing well.

I have several Rozannes that are in their second or third year, but I have some that did not come back. The ones that did not survive were planted in full sun in areas that were difficult to water. (Hose did not reach) I am thinking that dry soil may have contibuted to their demise. I will be curious as to other responses. I love this plant!

It does well here. I have it in morning sun, midday and later shade with plenty of water. My soil is clay and is supposed to be acidic but when I tested ph it showed alkaline. It's been in the ground now for three years and blooms all summer into fall in spite of 100+ heat for days on end. I only have one so perhaps there are weak clones out there.

Xanadu, I have the same growing conditions as yours so hopefully if I ever find a Rozanne locally I'll have some luck. :)

I purchased a bunch of Rozannes last year at Home Depot. Out of 9 of them, 8 came back. They started out sort of small when they first came back, and are already getting much larger (about 8-9" in diameter). They're in a fairly damp location, so maybe that's what they like. I'm in zone 5, and we had a mild winter for this area, but we had about a week of very cold weather with no snow cover.
