Last week I was thrilled to see dozens of tiny new fruit about the size of my thumbnail popping out all over my fig tree.

Then, a few days ago there didn't seem to be quite as many. I thought maybe the first impression was just my imagination.

Now, they are all gone! I looked on the ground to make sure they didn't merely fall off, but they seem to have disappeared.

This is the first time this tree has been molested by creatures. Nothing ever touched the figs before. Also, these figs weren't anywhere NEAR ripe.

What could have done this?

Squirrels? Birds? Rats?

All of the above?
