I think many of them can take full sun. I have 'Ballerina' in full sun, it blooms really well and the plant looks nice. Some varieties like more shade than others. Which ones were you thinking of trying?

Most of mine are in full sun - Geranium x cantabrigiense, Geranium x cantabrigiense 'Biokova', Bloody Cranesbill, Johnson's Blue, Geranium cinereum Ballerina, Geranium cinereum, Geranium cinereum Rothbury Gem, Tiny Monster.

Well, I really really wanted to try 'Katherine Adele' but I had read somewhere that the darker-leaved ones like more shade. Should I try anyway? I love the really pale pink of that one, and the nice foliage too.

Thanks for your input - Johnson's Blue was on my list as well, so I am feeling better about my choices now. I like the look of 'Biokova' but I think someone mentioned it taking over? I wanted something that would stay relatively tidy and not spread super-fast. Need something short-ish (and long-blooming hopefully) for the front of the bed to hide tulips and daffs when they get yucky. Colorwise, anything pale pink, white, or light/medium blue would work. Was also thinking about Dianthus or Scabiosa...any thoughts on those? I am open to any other suggestions in these colors since I am new to perennials. Thanks!

I found that most of my geraniums like the full sun positions, but they don't do well with the intense heat that we've gotten this year. 114 deg. is just a tad to much for anything to fourish in. My plants are all in pots, so I have moved them closer to the patio/house where they get shade most of the day.
