Most hardy geraniums (cranesbills) can be sheared or cut back after their primary bloom flush. They will rapidly regrow a lush crop of new foliage and often rebloom. If you have already cut them back, there is no need to do so again.

Some hardy geraniums are sprawling and work well weaving in among other plants. After cutting back they will regrow and be sprawling again when blooming.
