I am in a beginning of the learning curve for sinningias as well. I have one blooming for me now - Mercury. Yeah - i think they would be better in a middle than on the edge of the shelf. But in my humbling experience they go dormant from time to time - and if they look sad - it is often the sign that this time is coming - and you need to cut on water to keep it on a dry side, repot and wait when it will wake up again. I lost sleeping Sinn. Dolbaby because I kept the tuber as wet as usual for the growing plant- and it turned to mush. I miss it...

What I was trying to say - that the plant goes through seasons - grow - bloom - sleep, grow more with more bloom .. while it matures.

Old tink is quite the oddball. You think you have just another mini-sinningia but you don't. You have a hybrid between tiny pusilla and one of the tall growers, aggregata. It was made by a little ole lady in the early 70's and nobody has been able to repeat the cross.

So, it starts out like a mini; and it stays small; but it grows a floppy stem. It can stand upright for a while but eventually leans over. It flowers for a long time, and is really a charming if irrascable plant. Its best when you get a multi-crowned plant with stems that can trail all around. Start more plants from crown cuttings.

Irina, Jon, thanks for the info. It's currently putting out two new flower buds! Yay.

I'm not certain, but I think it's the one with two tubers in one pot. I received several Sinns. some time ago and can't remember if this was two or the Maiden's Blush x self. Guess I'll find out when I get around to repotting.
