I was wondering about hybridising. If I want to cross A(p.dichondraefolium) with B(a zonale variety), does it matter if i take the pollen from A and transfer it to the styles of B or vice versa?

I'm asking because I'm having a go with a species pelargonium that is rather straggly, and am trying to cross it with a zonale.
