A quick diagnoses might indicate rot, either root rot, check them first, or stem rot.

Take a clean leaf and plant it just like you would an AV leaf. You will eventually get plantlets just like AVs. (Check those plantlets for this because I suspect a fungus has entered the plant. You might try Benomyl. Any fungicide might save the plant. But keep the cost in mind. Often the cure is more costly than the plant.

The best time to mail order episcias is when the weather is warm throughtout the US. Now is still a little early. Marcia Belisle has the longest list of episcias. Lyndon Lyon has very nice well started plants. Other catalogs also offer many streps. You can get information on gesneriad suppliers from the Suppliers page on the AGGS web site (www.aggs.org). A great place to find episcias is at plant sales of gesneriad society chapters. Also, episcias can often be found at African Violet chapter sales.

The main reason why episcias die is not dryness but low temperatures. They like warm winter conditions--above 60 and mostly upper 60's or higher.
