The beens may be "asparagus beens " or also known as "yard long beans" . Big Max grow 80 to 100 poundS red orange in color the are a "squashkin" a decendant of a summer squash X pumpkin cross breed .The big moon is a light orange can grow to 120 pounds .

I have received other info and inquiries via regular email, and would like to suggest that questions and info should be sent to the forum, other people may be able to use the info or have answers to your questions, and this would make the Giant Vegetable forum more useful and interesting. In answer to one question - if the long beans are allowed to reach their full length they will lose both taste and tenderness. I like to pick them before the beans begin to swell in the pod.

My friend, Prof Blocher had some Belgium white carrots.
they taste like orange carrots. they are 3 feet x 1 foot. Prof is in heaven now. i think he took his seeds with him. if you know where i can get some, please contact me.

Actually, just beans. Heidi Swanson described some gigantic dry black beans she had bought at Phipps Country Store & Farm in Pescadero, CA. Heidi thinks they might be some sort of runner beans. Each bean is over an inch long after soaking, looking more like a large ripe olive than a bean!

The beans are out of stock at Phipps' now. Anyone able to identify them? ...Or know where to find more, either to plant or just to eat?
