They light very bright light...just no sun. Also like to dry out before you water them. Also something that I just learned...(always learning) you need to have the soil moist before you feed them. So now I water a little and wait about 5 minutes..then water the rest of the way with my mix of fertilizer and water. As for the brown sounds to be that something is burning them before they have a chance...maybe the fert?

Thank you firefighters moml, I'm new to lipstick plants so any advise is great! Your theory sounds right about the burning business, however I haven't fertilized her yet......hmmm perhaps it's the nursery's fault. I got this plant on mothers day but it doesn't seem to want to grow for me, there is little to no new growth. Perhaps I'll move her into the sun poarch in a spot without direct sun, I thought that she would like a southern exposure but nope =(. Geeze listen to me, talk about anthropomorphic!
