although I am new to this group I am not new to gardening or gingers. I have read through about 15 pages of forum on gingers, and I want to ask a question of some of the true experts and I am really impressed. first about ten years ago I got my first h. coccineum and quickly pollinated it with h cornarium and I waited, got seed planted and I have one of the most beautiful pale orange short plant that likes shade and is wonderfully fragrant, blooms over a long period and was green this winter until we actually had a freeze not a frost. the other one is tall growing orange very nice fragrance grows blooms puts up a new stalk and does it again. I guess my question is should I get one of you guys to come and look at them this summer and tell me if they are worth the nursery trade or just enjoy them myself. I would rather share. And I am not out for a killing on them either. But I simply have seen several post about planting seed and wonder if everyone is hybridizing. Looking forward to hearing from all of you. And I am mighty darn surprised to find out just this week that Gingersrus is practically in my own backyard. I have looked at your website before and never saw you were in Tallahassee, I am only one hour north of you.
