Yes, it is great to finally see spring arriving and staying, as well. Everything seems to be trying to show its head above ground. The gingers are ready to grow their height for sure. What type of gingers do you have. I have only been growing them for a couple of years. Don't have very many either. Just purchased a few new ones this year. I am glad to see people alive on this forum again. I mostly have hedychium, but also have the common pinecone, a few curcumas and the green shell ginger.I purchased many from gingersrus in Tallahassee Florida this past year. Really did well expecting all of them to flower this year some are already a foot tall. They really fill out the beds for summer. most are planted between young camellias and azaleas for right now. in a few years I will have to move them but by then I will have new beds done for them. I'm not that familiar with all the named Gingers. I have a few different ones. I just purchased a few at a local flower show. Curcuma Petiolata, Curcuma Elata, Curcuma Zedoria. I need to find me a general book on nothing but gingers, that way I'll become more familiar with them. Happy Gardening.

Most of my Hedychiums have come out of dormancy. A few Curcumas are up like Elata, Scarlet Fever, and Zedoaria. Most are not. Still waiting on Aeurginosa, Petiolata, Alismatifolia, Ornata, Inodora. The Alpinias that died back in our very cold, wet winter are coming back and Alpinia Japonica and Alpinia Pumila are blooming. No signs of any Zingibers, Globbas, Kaempferias. or Costus.
