This plant came up and it was very small for years. I figured out, it likes more sun and more water. It really got big this year and bloomed. Could this be because I put a ginger root in the compost after it went bad, or are those grocery store gingers different? Maybe it got planted in the container for another plant, that I planted for a nursery. I really like gingers, but I was afraid to try the, but this plant is very easy to grow. It could be four years old or more. I can't remember. It dies back each year. I used to think it was one of the good luck plants they used to sell to tourist from hawaii. Those may have been called Ti plants.
