How about trying to rejuvenate it by digging up, dividing and then replanting. Maybe give it a dose of fertilizer when it gets settled again? Sometimes things don't look their best when the competition is getting too great.

That's how some of my Hedychium looked when I sprayed it with Round-up (to keep it from taking over my yard).

Did The hedychium service or did it kill it completely? There is a possibility that roundup drifted to the ginger. Although I am very careful I have sprayed roundup on horsetail bamboo that was and still is nearby. Thank you for letting me know this as I really hadn't considered it as I am very careful with the roundup. There are some new shoots coming on that look normal I sure hope I have not killed or ruined this plant. It is a beauty. No leaves have died and the newer leaves are larger so hopefully it will outgrow it. Thanks

James you ever want to work out a trade for a small start of this I would make it worth your while

I've had several stems do this, can't say why it happens. I finally dug some up and potted them. New shoots are mostly white and die. Haven't had any grow to normal size. Hopefully yours will. I was hoping for a stable sport but no such luck.

Wow, Happy to see some life on this forum again I had about forsaken it also because nothing new was happening. For update on Dr. Moy it totally recovered and bloomed beautifully as normal. The foliage also remained the normal variegation. I really love the foliage and the flower color is to me outstanding. Thanks for the responses. James
