Ooh, that's so disturbing! I don't know why this would happen, but I think running plain water through it was a good move in case it was somehow too strong. Hope the mix drains well. They do take an awfully long time to bloom, tho' for me at least once they start they keep at it well, unless I let them get too dry. I don't have eburnea, and used to have Hisako but it's been some time--did you understand it to be a hybrid of those two? That's interesting. Hisako is a hybrid or selection or something of Chirita sinensis, and it's a beauty. I have four or so in bloom right now, but when they first made buds I think it was six months or so before they finally opened!

Well, I think it is going to survive. The stem is a bit sraighter and the flower looks ok. I am glad I took a leaf just to be sure. It was labeled eburneaxHisako. It is white outside with some blush of pink, the petals inside are a pretty soft buttery yellow and creamy in the throat.
It might be getting more buds, there are little specks of green at the base of the leaves. I took a few pictures and maybe I can have a picture to see. They are really pretty aren't they.

I can't comment on this particular problem, but the rosette-type chiritas generally need very little fertilizer so I would recommend on cutting their feeding in half or more. I think they bloom better when underfertilized; I have seen many big, leafy plants with very few flowers (if any) when they are grown like african violets, on the same watering and fertilizing schedule (and especially when grown on wicks). I generally recommend underpotting, underfeeding, and underwatering if you want to see your chiritas bloom well!
