I would wait to divide them very late in the fall at least.

As a rule of thumb plants should be divided opposite their blooming time.

I usually do my dividing in early Feb.

Thanks timestocime. I usually do it in spring but wasn't sure if it was something you are suppose to divide dorment or activilt growing like bannanas.
