SOIL MEALY BUGS!!!

Sorry - Korina - you have work cut for you.

You can rinse you tuber in a rubbing alcohol solution - but since they travel so well - you need to check all your plants.

You are not the first one to have mealies in hydroton.

Nope, not mealys (had 'em before). Fungus. Really.

And, actually, I believe I *was* the first one to have mealys in hydroton! ;-)

Nope - you are not the first - you are too young.

We have the lady in our club who tried it 30 years ago and ended with a nice crop of mealies.

If it is not mealies - I am so very glad! But just in case - take the magnifying glass and check if your fungus "rice grains" do not have legs.

Can't identify fungus without a microscopic view. I would wash it off, though. It's pretty thick, so it doesn't bode well.

Thanks, ladies. Fungus and roots have been removed, and tuber is more or less dormant. I should check it today for possible re-growth. If so, I'll take better pics.
