My ginger is really taking off and has several shoots off of the original plant and is over three feet tall. It is in a square area surrounded by pavement by my mailbox. What will happen if I don't divide it? Will it be detrimental to the plant when it maxes out the limits of the non-paved area or will it just stop growing?
