fog is a cloud in contact with the ground .... happens mostly when humidity is 100% and temp is close to the same as the dewpoint .... "harvest" humidity?? :)

folks in climates with summer "drought" have traditionally used dugouts or cisterns to save water from the wet cycle ... in your climate you need to learn to xeriscape and get by with less water

What about having some sort of large metal sheet at an angle with a crease down the middle? I'm no scientist, but would the fog condense on the metal and run down the crease into a container? (Living in the soggy northwest, we've never been confronted with this problem. But who knows what the future holds!)

blenk - the moisture in the air will condense [form dew] on things when the dewpoint is lower than the air temp, which isn't the situation in a fog - if the dewpoint is much lower than the temp it indicates very low humidity

desert survival tip - in dry desert conditions, a way to collect moisture is to dig a hole, put a container in the middle of the hole, and lay a plastic sheet over it, "coned" down in the middle - condensation from the warmer ground will form on the underside of the plastic as the night air cools, and it can run down and drip into the container :)
