This is an English spade I have been using heavily for about 15 years. I sharpen it on a bench grinder prior to digging bamboo. I've yet to see an American shovel that wasn't junk compared to this. It's made with the same craftsmanship that went into making a medieval weapon. Originally purchased from Smith & Hawken who no longer appears to sell this.
