Calamagrostis brachytricha

Cascading foliage in full sun and attractively more lax in partial shade. Stunning in flower, its long-lasting blooms (6 wks) open in early September (z5). Good winter interest. Autumn foliage a tawny gold. Tolerant of many conditions; prefers evenly moist but well-drained soil of average fertility. Combines well with many late-blooming perennials.
