Small fruit Heirloom Suggetions?

I'm looking for a small sized HEIRLOOM zuccini or squash. Can be vining or a bush. When I say small size, I mean something that grows fruits about the same size as the small green zuccini's you can buy in the supermarket - about 12 inches long or smaller. I found the "Ambassador" Zuccini online, which looks great except it is a hybrid and I'd prefer an heirloom variety that I can save seeds from.

I'd appreciate any suggestions. It doesn't have to be an early variety, and I'd love something with a great taste. Thanks for any ideas you might have!

The classic, Black Zucchini is non-hybrid.

No matter what variety you plant, you can pick your zucchini at any size you like to have them from the baby squash that still have the blossom to the "baseball bat" monsters that you find lurking under the leaves when you get back from a week at the beach.

The key is to pick frequently, even every day at the height of the season.

Concur; There are lots of OP zucchini all bush. Black Beauty, Gray, Dark Green, are also good performers. you also have a choice of the Italian types Caserta, Coczelle, Costata Romanesca, Striata de Italia etc.
