The seeds must be set one inch below the ground (requiring special equipment)....if you are looking to set a lawn with it, you might want to check into that.

I have never actually grown buffalo grass from seed.
But my whole law is BG. Which is great if you
have low rainfall like my area of KS.

I never water my lawn, but I would assume in establishing
a new lawn that would require more watering.
Have you considered plugs? You can easily dig up
some sod, place it and let it fill in with runners.
