How's that for a newbie question? I'm planning to grow winter squash for the first time this year, and it occurs to me I don't know what the plants look like. I'm planning to grow Mini Red Turban and Black Futsu... are these varieties vining plants? Or more of a bush? I've been planning to trellis them on a cattle panel... but maybe they look more like a summer squash plant? Also... can anyone suggest a plant spacing if I'm going to trellis them? Is 10' enough room on the trellis per plant? Too much? Any information would be much appreciated!
