Is goose gourd the same as swan gourd?

I have bought seeds from HD and planted them. Well , you are further up norteast from me. I am in North Atlanta suburbs, zone almost 8. I did not have facility to start my gouds inside. But I irect sowed them starting late March.
My swan gourds are growing alongside of large birdhous and luffa gourds.
I grew small birdhouse gourds last year but it got downey mildew before the gourds could fully mature.
This year I will spray them regularly by fungicide to prevent the damage. But most of my ornamental gourds matured last year. I learned by experience that gourds vines need a lot of room to run, or you have to have trellis.
Also, they work on their roots for sometime, before growing vine. To encourage female blossoms, must pinc/cut main when about 10- 12 feet long. Latteral vines produce more female flowers.
This is going to be my first year for growing swan and luffa gourd.
