Cut Back Pampas Grass?

We planted Hardy Pampas Grass and White Pampas Grass this past summer and I am not quite sure what to do with it in regards to cutting back before spring sets in. I would like to see some addtional growth out of them this season if possible to fill in the space. We are in zip 43235.

They should be cut back to a few inches in height before the new year's growth gets that tall. You can do it now, or wait until you see the new shoots starting to emerge. After cutting them back, gently rake out any debris which has collected between the stalks and blades. If they're healthy, they will grow back in, more full and taller than the previous year.
