New england pie pumpkins. yield and sprawl

I'm planning on planting some new england pie pumpkins for the first time and have been reading this forum and the cornell website.

When I get seedlings, the cornell website said to thin them out to about 2 or 3 per hill. So do I let all these vines grow?

On average, how many pumpkins do you get from a vine?

How long do vines get? I'm planting these in a raised bed.
