Ajuga

I have a mostly shaded sloping front lawn that has in recent years washed out to nothing. Grass seed has been unsuccessful. I was thinking of planting some variety of ajuga to stablize the slope. Would this be a good choice? How soon can it be planted? Anyone with Ajuga experience, please let me know! thanks!

Yes! I love ajuga. It spreads pretty rapidly, so it would be great for a slope. Just make sure it doesnt dry out too much. I like chocolate chip. It has pretty colors and stays low to the ground.

Ajuga is a wonderful ground cover. I started some this fall (in Missouri) and was amazed it has held it's own during the winter months. I previously grew it in Florida and it did great. I think it's a very well adapatable ground cover. Go for it!

thanks! I'm hoping to get some as soon as I can. I've seen pictures of the chocolate chip ajuga and it seems very attractive, though I will probably need to go for the most affordable to cover a large area.
