Need ideas for rapidly spreading ground cover??

I live in Loganville, GA Zone 7. I have a 100' by 30' area on a steep slope. It gets lots of sun and water doesn't stay on the slope very well. I can't find anything to get going on this. I also have two large dogs that travel this slope. In other words, I need something that will grow rapidly, decent on foot traffic, loves sun and tolerates drought conditions.

I was think about getting three different types of ground cover and see which one works the best. Crown Fetch, Vinca and some type of ivey. I would like the slope to have some type of character,, but I know that I can't be choosy. I just want something growing on it.

There are a few junipers on it now that have lasted, but they don't seem to be growing fast at all. Any thoughts would really be appreciated??
