Hi all,

I'm a new gardener and am doing a sort of intensive/square foot garden and growing my delicatas vertically.

Does someone know about how many delicata squashes are typical from a single plant? (The vining type, if that makes a difference.)

I'm trying to decide if I need 1 plant or 2. (I don't have much space but want to try it and see how well they grow in my yard, for next year.)

Also, what's the MINIMUM amount of space you can have between 2 delicatas? (Like, could I put two plants in a 2' space, or would that be too close?)

I'm planning on companion planting a climbing nasturtium next to them, and then a marigold in front of them at ground level.
