Unless you have an erosion problem why would you want to plant an evasive plant? If you want to check their growth habit visit the MO Botanical Garden and ask the gardeners if they raise it and the problems.

I have bamboo as a ground cover. It was already in my yard so I can't comment on its planting however it is a very dense and hearty ground cover. It goes dormant in the winter months and unless kept in check it will keep spreading. I just mow my lawn regularly and keep it in check but I can tell it is spreading rapidly on the backside where I do not mow.
