Could be dogs urinating on your Blue Pacific. Looks like it is DOA. Too much urea and sun are not a good mix. I know if you spread blood meal or moth balls that could keep inqusitive dogs away from your junipers.

I am almost certain it is not dog urine. My neigbhors' would not do that with their dog and I would have seen it happening.

Any other ideas?

It's mighty strange the others aren't affected. The only other things I can think of is too much water, sitting too high out of the ground or maybe air pockets when you planted or wind burn but the others aren't affected. Maybe it's a different dog or cat, because it sure looks as if someone was staking their territory.
