They might just need a little more time. I wouldnt worry about watering them too much although you might want t o only do everyother day and see if it helps. :o)

I, too, am new to gourd growing and my birdhouse gourds started off really slow, but they are growing great now, so just be patient a while longer.

Don't over water--I did that to my pumpkins last year and they stayed very small and only produced a couple of scrawny pumpkins. This year, I forced myself to just leave them be. They're doing beautifully!!!

Yes, just give the plant time to mature and grow its roots in the grow. Then it should be fine and healthy. Also, remember that this is nature's fruit and that nature is the one that should be watering. Unless you are in a droughted area, I would only water the plants a few times a week.

All the gourds I've ever grown always go through this phase in the beginning were they don't seem to be growing at all for a couple of weeks. I think they are just working on the roots at that time. But then all of a sudden the vine takes off. And when they take off, they really take off! :)
