The "first" leaf stems (nearest to vine base) are wilting and dying. The leaves/stems which are the longest/highest nearer to the furthest extents of the vine are looking alright.

Should the leaves/stems nearest the vine base be doing this? I tried to convince myself that it was lack of sunlight as the larger/higher leaves are creating a good amount of shade over the leaves/stems nearest the vine base. But, I'm also worried these are just the first deaths in the wake of SVB's boring from the base...

I've sprayed Ferti-Lome Borer spray and noticed a borer moth flying around a week or so ago...he didn't hang around long - don't know if it was the spray that shoe'd him off - hope so.

Anyways, sorry for rambling - any input/guidance on the leaf/stem wilt/death?
