Eliminating turf grass in liriope

Hi all. I have liriope, both green and variegated, lining multiple planting beds. The turf grass has invaded them and I see no way of pulling/killing the turf grass in the beds without hurting the liriope that is starting to come up. Is there any answer here? I am seriously considering just killing/pulling it all and going with no border since it really just doesn't look good in spots.
