some of the ajugas are actually not quite as hardy in WI as they're supposed to be...I know that I tried Burgundy Glow a few times and it never came back. That said, the Bronze Beauty is a really awesome. A friend brought it over and planted single plantlets about every 18". By the end of the season, it had covered the ground it was meant to and the folling spring, I was already ripping it off the top of the stepping stones to give to a friend. I know of people who call it invasive, but for me, it filled in what I wanted to quickly, and it has pretty much stayed in bounds...probably because I keep giving the out of bounds stuff away. You can just pull it up with your hands, it's that easy.

That's good to know. Still no sign of Chocolate Chip coming back for me.

I just purchased some Gaiety and Black Scallop. If these don't work for me, I'll have to try Bronze Beauty.

Hello Kim: I know this is an old thread. I ran across it when researching ajuga for myself. Black Scallop is one of the ones I am interested in. May I ask you how well it did for you since you first posted? Thanks.
