I would wait until all chance of frost is past. It won't do much growing until the weather really warms up anyway. I've given them a head start by potting them up to a larger black nursery pot, and leaving them out on warm sunny days and then bringing them back inside overnight.

When the weather gets hot, these things grow like weeds. You should have no trouble getting it to maturity, with a nice bloom.
