ground cover for along fence

Hi All,

I'm looking for a partial-sun ground cover that doesn't need mowing. It would be along the drainage path next to the lot line. (Not a drainage ditch, though...it's still fairly flat.) We'd want about a foot-wide swath of it. Neighbor has a fence up along his side of the lot line. DH thought that maybe there's some moss species that we could grow there?

some- but you would need a NATIVE moss to do so- meaning a local one that was growing in similar conditions.

you might look in to creeping speedwell, lamium (dead nettle) or even creeping phlox, which won't flower as extravagantly, but will make a nice carpet.

bugleweed/ajuga is another option, they come in green and bronze leafed types, and the purple flower spikes are one of my favorite parts of my lawn :)
